🧑‍🏫 How to keep a weather diary

  1. Pick an observation time — the same every day, for example 8:00 and 14:00.
  2. Write down the temperature — from the thermometer outside or from your city table (weather-station data).
  3. Note the phenomena — clear ☀️, cloudy ⛅, overcast ☁️, rain 🌧, thunderstorm ⛈, snow ❄️.
  4. Add wind and pressure — for younger students “light/strong” is enough, older students write m/s and mmHg.
  5. Sum up at the end of the month — the warmest and coldest day, how many days had precipitation.

Weather diary — what it is and why

A weather diary is a school table of daily observations of temperature, precipitation, wind and pressure. Younger students keep it for science class and older students for geography. This page collects ready diaries for cities of Russia: past days of every month are filled with actual weather-station readings, so a missed day can always be restored. Pick a city, print the whole template or a blank sheet — and keep your own observations, checking them against our data. For monthly summaries the weather archive with records and climate norms comes in handy.
