Precipitation map in Anapa — how to read the radar
The map shows actual precipitation in Anapa and around the city from weather radars and satellites (RainViewer): the last ~2 hours of frames plus a short nowcast. It is centred on Anapa; zoom with the wheel or a pinch to see both the city and the rain approaching it.
The colour shows intensity. Light blue and blue mean drizzle or light rain, green — moderate rain, yellow — heavy, red — a downpour, often with thunder. The deeper the colour, the more water falls per hour. In winter the same shades mean snow: the radar does not distinguish the phase, so blue areas below freezing are snowfall.
The ▶ button animates the frames so you can see where the rain band is heading. From its direction you can tell whether it will reach Anapa and roughly in how many minutes. The slider steps through frames manually; the last frames are marked as nowcast — a computed short-term outlook, not an observation.

The hourly forecast says rain is likely in the afternoon, but the radar shows the band is thirty kilometres west right now and will arrive in about half an hour. In summer this is how you catch gaps between thunderstorms, which rarely move as a solid wall; in spring and autumn it helps plan a drive when a long steady rain shows up as a large even field creeping across the region.
Radar data refreshes every few minutes, so reload the page before heading out. An empty map means there is no precipitation within range — that is normal, not a loading error.
