This light-eyed Blue Bay Shepherd, originally from the USA, resembles a wild wolf, but its coat has shades tending toward blue. With a very dense coat like that of a Samoyed, powerful musculature like that of an Amstaff, or the uniqueness of every mixed breed. All the dogs are magnificent and very popular in the States.
It was bred in Palm Bay, Florida, and the first litter was born in 2021. However, the breed is still in development.
Its creator – Vicki Spencer – dreamed of having an obedient animal like a shepherd, loyal, with a good-natured temperament and wolf-like features. The search was not easy, especially in order to achieve that bluish coat shade.
The breed is described as affectionate, intelligent, and responsive. Its distinctive features are light eyes and a thick coat that turns blue.
Ever since the first puppies appeared in the States, people have fallen madly in love with this dog. On social media there are numerous videos featuring purebred Blue Bay Shepherd dogs.
They are wonderful for their appearance and their ability to mesmerize onlookers. As for their state of health, although they are described as sturdy, it is unknown to what extent they have inherited the problems that afflict the German Shepherd. Among these is hip dysplasia.
Vicki Spencer reported that work on the breed will still take a very long time. In the meantime, we would like to remind you that there are thousands of non-pedigree animals in shelters, waiting for years for their dads and moms. They too, like the blue shepherd and other breeds, can be loyal and loving. Let us not forget about them.
