Matt Cuddihy made an amazing find on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. The man often dives off the coast of Australia in search of various artifacts. As a rule, the treasure hunter comes across old flippers, swimming masks and all sorts of trinkets. This time Matt got incredibly lucky — he discovered an extremely rare Rolex Submariner 5513 watch. What's more, it turned out to be in working order, and the depth and time seem to have had no effect whatsoever on its operation.
The man decided that the right thing to do in this situation would be to try to track down the watch's owner and return his lost property to him. Matt posted a notice about the find on social media, and a man named Rick responded to it:
«Hello, Matt! If there is an engraving on the back of the watch, then it's mine. After I lost my Rolex, I went to the police, but to no avail. Perhaps, thanks to you, I'll be able to get back the memories connected with this watch».
It turned out that there really was an inscription on the watch. The man had received the Rolex as a gift from his father back in 1971 for winning a sailing competition. Rick lost the watch in 2019 while surfing and had already given up hope that the lost item would be found, and in working order at that.
