Amateur gardeners can easily make fertilizer from cucumber leftovers. Besides the peelings, only one more very simple ingredient is required, namely – water.
The liquid is placed in an airtight container together with the cucumber leftovers so that the vegetable scraps are completely covered. An ordinary three-liter glass jar, for example, is suitable for this. Seal the container airtight and put it in the refrigerator. There the mixture should be kept for three to five days.
During this time the cucumber peel will release potassium and phosphorus into the water. Both ingredients can stimulate the growth of plant roots – this applies both to plants in the garden and to indoor flowers.
After 3-5 days, strain the water, and only then throw away the cucumber peelings. They have already given up everything useful.
With the remaining liquid you can water (and at the same time fertilize) any plants. You do not need to do this constantly: cucumber water can be used once every 2-3 weeks. This should be enough for the plant to grow better.
You can also use the peelings in another way. Let the cucumber peel dry for a day or two, and then burn it. The vegetable ash can then be added to the soil in a pot or in the garden. This will also stimulate plant growth.
