Live flowers in the home – that's always a great idea. True, bouquets can ruin you financially, whereas a flowering plant in a pot will delight you for years, and with proper care – bloom non-stop. We have gathered the most low-maintenance options of plants with white flowers.
Orchid
It is wrongly considered finicky – all it needs is enough sunlight. The flower must be protected from direct sun, watered once a week, and you must never, under any circumstances, cut off its aerial roots. And then the orchid will delight you with incredibly delicate flowers week after week.
Azalea
There are many varieties of azaleas – with flowers ranging from rich red to the most delicate white. They can be miniature and potted, or sprawling and suitable for the garden. Finding a variety of white azalea is no trouble at all. The flower prefers partial shade and loves a moist but not overly wet environment. In summer it will feel great on a balcony, as long as direct sunlight doesn't reach it there.
Hoya
This plant is also called wax ivy. It is very undemanding – essentially, it is a succulent vine. The hoya loves warmth and moisture, since it is, after all, a tropical plant. It blooms in clusters of small white flowers with red centers. By the way, they have a wonderful fragrance – so you will get not only visual but also olfactory pleasure.
Gardenia
A lush green bush with snow-white flowers – it looks very cheerful. The flowers of the gardenia smell amazing; this tropical sweet aroma is able to relieve stress and tension and promote relaxation. This seems to be the flower that every city apartment needs. It loves light and high humidity, but without direct sunlight.

Plumeria
This too is a guest from the tropics, and it looks the part – its white flowers with yellow centers can often be seen in advertisements for paradise-like pleasures such as massages or island getaways. Only three species of plumeria have taken root in home conditions – red, the miniature obtuse one, and white. The white flowers smell amazing – their rich aroma makes you instantly forget the hardships of the working day.
Zephyranthes
A herbaceous bulbous plant with thin long leaves and large flowers resembling lilies on tall stalks. The zephyranthes loves a moderately warm and moist environment, regular feeding and good company – it will bloom only if no fewer than 6–7 bulbs are planted in one pot. By the way, another name for the zephyranthes is «upstart», so nicknamed because it sends up flower stalks very quickly.
Eucharis – the Amazon lily
The name of this flower translates from Greek as «graceful», which already says a lot. The eucharis is a relative of the amaryllis, but while the latter usually has bright red flowers, in our case they are snow-white with a greenish center. The plant loves coolness, moderate watering and humid air. Its flowers are large – up to 12 centimeters in diameter. It looks very elegant.
Zantedeschia – the calla
Strictly speaking, to call this flower only white – is to do it a disservice. The zantedeschia can also bloom deep purple, soft pink, yellow and red. But there are white varieties too. The plant adores humidity; it needs to be misted literally every day. If it gets too dry, you won't see any flowers. In addition, the zantedeschia needs to be fed regularly – twice a month.
Balsam
It is also called touch-me-not. There are a great many varieties of balsam, including beautiful snow-white ones. This plant is very low-maintenance and, if the omens are to be believed, creates positive energy in the home, drawing all the negativity onto itself and protecting its owners from it. There are usually a great many flowers on the bush, so the plant looks like a bright accent in the home.
