Ladybug
The ladybug, a tiny creature with striking coloring, is a true and merciless enemy of whiteflies, fleas, mites and mealybugs, which ruin crops and destroy the future harvest. A single ladybug eats up to 60 aphids a day. In this respect our little friend is simply a predator, hunting garden pests day and night. Even when a ladybug's life comes to an end, it manages to be of use. Its larvae are a kind of protective barrier against harmful insects, preventing them from reaching the plants.
Praying mantis
Tall grass on a plot, where there are shrubs nearby and marigolds growing together with dill, is the praying mantis's favorite habitat. This is where it lies in wait, as if in ambush. The praying mantis is perhaps the fastest hunter in the insect world. It instantly kills garden and country pests. To the great delight of the plot's owners, the mantis is very voracious. It eagerly devours flies, caterpillars, crickets, grasshoppers and aphids. And it does not turn up its nose at pest larvae either.
Lacewing
Lacewings are flying predators that ruthlessly destroy fruit flies, moths, whiteflies and other pests. And they eat them in countless numbers. If lacewings have appeared on your plot, you can safely give up many ways of fighting harmful insects.
Spiders
Frightening as they look, spiders turn out to be extremely useful for gardeners. Spreading their deadly web, they deftly catch aphids, pesky ants, flies and other pests. So when you notice silvery cobwebs, try not to destroy this useful insect's trap.
Ground beetles
Ground beetles prefer to dig in the soil, although it is well known that these insects can fly quite well too. Every night ground beetles go out on an active hunt. Under leaves, in manure, in the darkest places, they find caterpillars and other pests in hiding. For the beetles, this is the most desirable food.
Wasps
Fragrant plants on a plot – mint, lavender, chamomile, sage – always attract wasps' attention. You could say that for these flying insects such an environment is their natural element. Wasps actively destroy caterpillars, which are capable of ruining any vegetable crop and even reaching the corn. It is worth noting that these flying predators eat them in considerable quantities. So that they can then rear their offspring without any difficulties.
Bumblebees
Bumblebees, like bees, pollinate plants, giving them strength and health. At the same time, they feed on nectar. The harvest that fruit trees produce depends largely on the useful work of bumblebees. So if colonies of these insects have settled in hollow logs, try not to disturb them.
