«Treasure Hunt»
On the eve of the trip, draw a real pirate treasure map. And in the morning, hand it to the children and warn them that you are not just going on a picnic, but on a treasure hunt. Believe us – there will be a whole load of joy and anticipation of adventure! Once you arrive at the picnic spot, your task is to distract the children while one of the adults hides that very «treasure». It could be a box of lollipops (do not take chocolate candies – they will melt and attract insects), toy or real coins, or small toys.
You can add some decorations around the clearing so that the children can navigate the area by certain landmarks according to the treasure map. The main thing – do not hide the treasure too far away; the children should stay within your sight.
«Fun Relay Races»
It all depends on your imagination, physical fitness – yours and the children's – and, of course, the availability of sports equipment. For example, you can stick to a badminton set and arrange a real tournament. Be sure to give the winners prizes – chocolate medals. A sack race would be fun, but look for a flat surface to avoid injuries. You can also play dodgeball, jump in Chinese jump rope, or kick a soccer ball around.
«Mushroom Picking»
You will need children's buckets and lots and lots of light toy blocks. Scatter them around the clearing and send the children off to gather «mushrooms». The adults, by the way, can rest at this moment, have a snack, or busy themselves grilling shashlik. Give the children a set amount of time, after which count the number of mushrooms in each bucket. Whoever has more – wins. But do not forget about consolation prizes, otherwise you will not avoid tears of resentment and a childish tantrum.
«Basketball»
For this game, by the way, you do not necessarily need a hoop. An ordinary bucket will play its role, and a small ball can be used as the ball. Each player's task is to throw the ball into the «hoop» and earn a point.
«Twister»
This ideal option for entertainment has saved more than one gathering – and not necessarily at a picnic. True, you will have to make the effort and buy a Twister set, namely the mat and the instructions. Choose a flat surface, free of knots, holes, and stones. After all, you will literally have to all but lie on the ground. This amusing game will appeal not only to children but to adults too. Split into pairs and hold a Twister championship.
By the way
For a picnic, it is better to avoid overly active games that can become injury-prone. These are tag, blind man's buff, and also hide-and-seek. Just in case, keep on hand a set of antiseptics, plasters, and bandages, so that you can provide first aid in the event of an injury.
