On June 11 the attention of all visitors and staff of the Moscow Zoo was fixed on the Pallas’s cat Timosha, who was celebrating his birthday that day. He turned 3. The Moscow Zoo reported that by summer the Pallas’s cat had gotten into shape, but in honor of the occasion he did not refuse to indulge in a most delicious rat – that is exactly what the fluffy one was presented with instead of a cake.
Timofey, along with his five brothers and sisters, was born in Novosibirsk. A year later Timosha moved to Moscow. In honor of the celebration, the Novosibirsk Zoo shared archive footage of all the babies:
Hundreds of eager visitors come to look at the Pallas’s cat, but the fluffy star prefers to lead a rather secretive life. This is not at all surprising, since translated from Mongolian «manul» means «wild cat» – it is impossible to tame this animal. On his birthday the remarkable creature made an exception, demonstrating a «regal dash around the enclosure».
By the way, that is not all the congratulations! The Moscow Zoo invited Timofey’s fans to take a creative approach to the birthday boy. A poetry contest was announced. Five especially creative and talented authors will receive prizes.
